Life in Abundance
By Karen Pearson, PhD – President of Kids Hope USA
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
John 10:10b
Springtime brings budding trees, blooming flowers, and warmer temperatures.
For Christians, spring also recognizes the Lenten season where we celebrate the joy and hope of Christ’s resurrection at Easter. Christ’s love that He poured out on the cross for us changes the way we think, act, work, and seek to pursue His will in the world.
At Kids Hope USA, we are inspired and motivated by the belief that all kids matter to Jesus. And Jesus put that into action as He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. John 10:10b says,
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Life abundantly. Isn’t that something we all desire—from mentors to children to directors and prayer partners. This concept of life in abundance brings about a renewal of life; a new beginning and opportunity to continue growing and flourishing.
As a committed prayer partner for a Kids Hope USA program, I invite you to pray for your mentor, student, and director. Lift mentors up as their relationship with their student comes to a close for this school year. Pray that they will continue to find ways to affirm and encourage abundant life in the student they are mentoring.
Dear Lord,
thank you for the gift of abundant life that you have brought for us. I pray for each Kids Hope USA relationship as they spend time together in the last few weeks of the school year. Give the mentors courage, perseverance, and love to inspire the abundant life you bring to them in their student.
Amen.
