This past weekend my family and I enjoyed a beautiful day on Lake Michigan. We were hiking, climbing and jumping off sand dunes—taking in the beauty of the spring season and enjoying God’s creation together. Getting there, however, was a substantial hike, which meant it would also be a substantial hike back down after a day of fun in the sun, as well. Of course, we were prepared with snacks, water, and more snacks, but there was still a very real energy output during our fun-filled day.
